What is the IHCAE?

The International Homecare Assessment Examination (IHCAE) is a standardized assessment designed to evaluate the knowledge, skills, and competencies of homecare professionals, ensuring they meet international standards in patient care and safety.

  • EU Applicants: €100

  • International Applicants: €160

  • 30 Multiple-Choice Questions: Candidates must answer all; each question carries 2 points.

    • Section A: 30 minutes

  • 5 Case Studies / Scenario-Based Questions: Candidates must answer 4; each question carries 10 points.

    • Section B: 30 minutes

Candidates who score 70% or higher will receive their certificate.

Results are sent to the applicant’s registered email within a week. Successful candidates will receive a digital certificate. Physical certificates can be requested for an additional fee.

Yes, candidates who do not pass may retake the exam. There is a re-examination fee of €50. Candidates are advised to review areas of weakness before attempting a retake.
